We are just starting to put together a list of hints, tips, and answers to your frequently-asked questions. So the list below is embryonic! But, given that we are using Gaggle, there's a lot of answers already available on their help centre , in particular:
(the above links will take you off our site. Please let the webmaster know if any of the links are broken.)
If you think you are missing some messages that have been sent to the group, then
check your spam folder!
Are you set up to get a daily digest? If so, you won't receive a copy of each message, just a summary, once a day. (The time of the summary will vary from person to person; we think it's related to the time that your account was switched to receive a daily summary.)
note: if Gaggle is having difficulty in sending messages to you, for example because your mailbox is full, then the TB2 team will switch you to daily moderation. Of course, in this case we won't be able to tell you this is what happened! You can either set it back yourself, or send a message to the moderators asking to be set back to normal.
If Gaggle has had difficulty in sending messages to you, because your email provider seems to think they are spam, then Gaggle will 'block' you. If you suspect this may have happened, contact the TB2 moderators, and ask to be unblocked!
Unfortunately, this is no longer as easy as it used to be; instead of simply sending an email, you now have to do it via your browser - or confirm that you want to send the message using a link in an email that Gaggle will send you. See our summary FAQ on posting a message, which has a link to a pdf containing all the details. Assuming you have set up an account + password at Gaggle, then the simplest process is to
post a message to the group via your email program;
wait for an email from Gaggle saying your post has failed (it hasn’t, it's just been put in a drafts folder);
click the link in that post to open your folder of draft posts and ignore the request to convert to a paid-for account;
open your draft post, and click on the button to send it to the group.
There is a limitation on the total size of attached files/embedded images that are allowed each day. So Touchbase users are asked not to have large pictures in their posts, nor large numbers of medium-sized images. Fortunately, there are ways of shrinking images, or setting up an album of images. As we discover new ways, we will add them here.
